Judging by how Ryan love to show his feminist ideals by making female characters go through unspeakable amount of non-canon abuse and violence. And the only way for Rhaenyra's story to be a progressive/feminist tale is by making her get abused by the men around her. I am going to assume it's wouldn't be that far for Ryan to change Rhae's death and makes her gets raped in 4k scene by aegon (who should be disabled but we know Ryan loves to ignore source material) like show Rhaenyra's got zero respect from the writers. Like even her relationship with Daemon which wasn't healthy in the book to begin with , is now not really about her but because Daemon got the hots for Viserys (some leaks implies it for Aemma) he started projecting into her and entered a relationship with her bc it's the closest he can get to Visussy 🤓 f&b was already bad for me personally but Ryan is such a talented mf he managed to come up with much worse

*sorry for the rant I don't really ship daemrya but I really hate watching a female character get non-canon abuse just for the writers to prove a point about a male character *

tbh with you I do enjoy daemyra very much in the book but I fully acknowledge their dynamic has its toxicity (tbf it's super rare to find a wholesome, sweet, "healthy" asoiaf couple and I probably wouldn't even get that hooked compared to how I get with the dark ones)

That being said, the couple lost me already by s1 ep4, so it terms of shipping I've given up waiting anything from them

Now about the writing, hotd has been misogynistic from the start so I'm not exactly waiting for a transformation to happen in s2.

in s1 Alicent’s character was rewritten - in such a way that the new version of her doesn't even experience a moment of happiness or a second of having autonomy or power. She's always someone's punching bag while also her being hypocritical and nasty to Rhaenyra

Laena's way of death was completely unnecessary and brutal, similiar to Aemma's. And the fact they made getting burnt alive being "a dragon rider's death" already gave a hint about how Rhaenyra's death will be seen if it follows canon.

asoiaf established how brutal dragon fire is when Rhaegal bathed Quentyn after he tried to tame Viserion. It's not "honorable" as hotd tries to make it be, it's torturous. And my concern with Rhaenyra's death is that it won't be seen for its brutality.

To continue Baela & Rhaena were barely given any lines, their role as kids was getting dismissed but their dad and as adults they were just standing silently - you'd think they were background characters.

Mysaria's character was brushed off by erasing the child loss she went through due to Viserys - which debatably worked as a trigger for the events she also did in the plot.

Rhaenys was downright written as an idiot who was envious of Rhaenyra and instead of supporting her, she was trying to "humble" her by being an asshole. When she got the opportunity to destroy the greens during the coronation she walked away because.... *check notes" she made eye contact with alicent and the power of motherhood won? her granddaughters being engaged wasn't enough for her to act I guess.

Then there's Helaena, who while she did have an extremely tiny role in the book, it doesn't justify making her extra passive. I've talked about this before but making her having "dragon dreams" is useless and a waste of time and it's also a great excuse to have her be dismissed and ignored.

Helaena in the book was said to be pleasant, motherly, patient and calm. I won't mention the leaks I've read about b&c but if they're true they paint her in a very weird light.

Rhaenyra deserves an entire post of her own. If alicent was the punching bad Rhaenyra is the bing bong boll being tosses from one person to another each second.

So yeah, the issue isn't about shipping or even which teams anyone sides with. The writing is atrocious to all the female characters, and what's the cherry on top is the showrunners constantly patting themselves in the back for being "feminist" and GA falls for it!

I'm so burnt out 😩 This is why I've decided to attempt turn off the media analysis for the show 'cause it's like kicking a dead horse. My goal for this season is to try to vent less and enjoy whatever I can put of context without thinking too hard about it.

⊱ so Mizuki is quite similiar to An, they also noticed your eyes immidietly even if you two didn't knew each other but they didn't approached you

⊱ unless you noticed them, then they did just to tell you that they think they're pretty so you won't think they're secretly making fun of that

⊱ they also like to stare into your eyes but not for too long or too often and they don't make cheesy comment but smile and giggle instead

⊱ your heterochromia definitely makes it harder to pick outfit that matches perfectly for you but they also think it makes outfits look even more interesting so they absolutely love them!

⊱ so when they hear that someone maked fun of you for that, they have 3 feelings: confusion - because how can someone not notice how pretty they are?!!, sadness - because they can see how this unwelcomed comment made you feel, and anger - because how someone could insult their lover?!

⊱ they're also not the type to physically hurt someone but they surely won't mind ruining their reputation a little

⊱ and trust me when I say they're good at ruining someone's reputation in real life and even better in online if they put their heart into it

if you also love this au, please check out this one tumblr writer's fics, can't remember their user but the tag they use is "sgs au." it's the same thing but each spirit is basically "haunting" their respective twst counterparts. but all of the overblot gang have a little crush on yuu and each spirit tries to get their boy and yuu together, effectively causing chaos and cockblocking the other boys.

also! more similiar you your au, an ao3 fic called "smile now dear, it's sunrise" by hummingsparrow. where yuu, who has each of the great seven kinda trapped in their mind, using yuu's body as a vessel of sorts. yuu is also from either the very far past, or alternate reality where they were fighting in the middle of a huge war, then being brought to twst by a fucked transportation spell. it is so good i can't even put it into words pls read it it's so good. it has cute great 7 + yuu found family moments. also very cute yuu + grim/teachers/twst student relationships (platonic.) heed the tags though, it's kind of angsty.

I SAW THAT FIC AND IT WAS STRIKINGLY SIMILAR TO MY YUUSONA SO I READ ITVALL AND I LOVE IT.

I love the 7 parents au too! I always thought that Yuu could talk to them in dreams yk??? And I also adore the idea of Yuu coming from an awful world or apocalypse. Finding that ficnwas a good mine and I hope the creator is well

Is it just me or did chapter 241 just raise so many death flags for Takeomi? Since this arc has had parellels to previous arcs; Moebius Arc - Draken, Valhalla Arc (Kazutora) - South and now we have Black Dragons Arc Shiba Siblings - Akashi Siblings, based on the similiarities that we have from them:

-Taiju+Omi, oldest sibling who was forced into the parental role and not being the best at it due to lack of parents/role model -Yuzuha+Sanzu, middle child who had to put up with the physical/verbal abuse of their older sibling and being the shield of their younger sibling -Hakkai+Senju, baby of the family who are just as traumatised and in need of therapy as their older siblings (Family Therapy Arc pls...)

Plus Sanzu mentioning in the flashback that he wants to stand up to Omi, leads me to believe that Wakui will recreate the scene between Taiju and Yuzuha with Takeomi and Sanzu.

In the previous Arcs the characters were able to avoid death. Unfortunately this Arc is the angsty version of the previous ones and everyone has died up until now... So chances are high that Omi will be attacked by Sanzu either before or after the final battle, which will then lead to Tenjiku Arc.

Also Sanzu's weapon of choice will most likely be his katana, so compared to Yuzuha's knife and adding Omi's "old age + smoking" his chances of survival are close to zero when Sanzu does the stabby stabby....

Although I hope that I'm wrong and he survives bc I like all of the Akashi and Shiba siblings. :(

That's interesting, the two sets of siblings do match up pretty well together. Though I think the Akashi siblings have a more complex relationship with each other, though this could just be because we don't know everything about them yet.

Unfortunately I don't think we're going to get that family therapy arc though, i think at least one of them will die during the final fight. Who it will be will depend on if Sanzu is supposed to be redeemed or not, if he kills Takeomi then I don't see how he can be redeemed after that. I also don't think he wants him dead??? I mean they're working together in the bonten timeline so surely Sanzu can't hate him that much. Well unless Mikey ordered them to get along? To me they're currently setting up Sanzu's redemption or at least trying to make him more sympathetic.

I actually think Sanzu will be the one to die, I can see him saving Senju "one last time". Especially after she kept saying that he doesn't care about her, it makes me think he might pull an Izana and save her, proving that he's always cared. I also wouldn't be suprised if Takeomi or Senju is killed by a member of Sanzu's team which then fuels his switching sides (probably thanks to a speech from Takemichi). I can see us getting a remake of this scene.

I also don't think Sanzu's weapon of choice is the katana??? I think he only used that on Mucho as more of a ceremonial thing, or just to give him a more brutal death. Since we don't see him with a katana during the three deities fight, though if he does want to kill Takeomi he might use it again.
